zxy axes not working gecko G540

hi all,
I`ve just got back to tinkering with my mill after a long recovery from my illness february 2016 before I got sick all the axes on my mill worked when I press ref all they went to their home switches then backed off as per normal I have just got the all clear from the Doctors that I can now operate machinery I`ve just tried to set up my digital probe to find the center of a pocket ever since I`ve tried to do this first my x axes stopped working and when I press ref all none of the axes work but the dro numbers work on the x axes I`m using mach 3 version R3.043.066 when mach 3 is running z and y axes motors get warm as normal but x axes motor is stone cold I went into hardware test and none of my home switches are working for some reason !!!Q ahould I download Mach 3 again and rest all the settings etc I think I`ve might of inadvertently -:(changed some settings many thanks in ad advance for any help

Hi,
Motors not moving could either be a basic mach configuration issue, or some hardware that died.

For configuration stuff, look in C:\Mach3\xmlbackups - that is where mach stores backup copies of the mach config xml file. You can copy one of the older config files to a new name in the mach dir and start mach using that profile. If things come back to life you will know it was a clobbered config.

You can reinstall mach if you want - but it's unlikely that will make a difference (mach installations don't usually get corrupted, the config files do).

Otherwise you will have to go trouble shooting the electronics to see what is working and what is not.
