Can't find TCP TP with T#0

Post by Fredsan »

After using MSM on Win XP for several years without any problems, I re-installed my PC with Win 7 (32 bits).

After a complete clean installation of Windows, Mach3, MSM and re-activation of MSM I wanted to configure the TCP TP.

Unfortunately when I click Set TCP RP MCz I get a popup window:

MSM Locate TCP TP Special Function
Can't find TCP TP with T#0

I use MSM version v2.3.6
Mach3 R3.043.066 (Licensed)

In MSM settings I activated TCP TP Installed (led Green)
On The tooling page I have set the TC Position, and the spindle is at the TCp position (by clicking Go TC Pos'n)

I checked the wiring and pin settings, and all is correct.

I checked the video's on Youtube, and read the manual.

I must be forgetting something but i cannot find it, please help.

Hi,
first please let me apologize for the delay in handling this post - I've been tied up with a family medical situation and I've been doing nothing else for a week.

The problem is that tool #0 is mounted. Tool 0 is mach's short hand for "no tool is in the spindle".
The TCP TP calibration routine wants to use a tool that has a physical length - which tool 0 (i.e. no tool is mounted) can't have.

Mount a non-zero tool number and use that tool number and I believe the routine will stop complaining.

Hi Dave,

YES !!! It works :)

I knew it should be something simple, but I could not find the solution.

I hope everything is okay with your family.

Thank you for the support.

Kind regards,
Fred.
