Product Technical support:
Support for CVI software products is available via our user community support forums. Often times the answer to a question may be readily found in the support forum.
We monitor the support forums and prefer to handle technical support thru the forums - this allows other users to also benefit from the knowledge shared as issues are found and fixed.

Please note: CVI does not offer one on one phone support for the MachStdMill software package as a bundled part of the product offering. Please use the online support forum for all support requests.

MSM Personal Edition support:
With the release of MachStdMill 2.0, the MSM Personal Edition became a license fee free product*.
Support for the Personal Edition is provided by the MSM User forum community and all support questions should be directed there. We prefer to handle technical question thru the forums as this allows other users to also benefit from the shared knowledge on the forums.
Becuase the MSM Personal Edition is license fee free, it does not generate any revenue for CVI and therefore, CVI can not commit to providing any support for the MSM Personal Edtiion. This is the formal support policy of CVI wrt to the MSM Personal Edition.
Informally (and without commitment), CVI expects to continue to be able to answer user support forum questions re MSM whether they are for the Personal or the Professional Edition. We don't intend to spend our time checking if the user asking a question is a licensed Professional Editon user or not before helping.
The reality is that we, like you, have multiple obligations to attend to each day, and thus our response time for license fee free Personal Edition questions may vary. We just ask that users of licese fee free software have appropriate expectations.

* It is important to understand that while the MSM personal Edition is "license fee free"; that does not mean that the software is not subject to any license terms, only that the applicable software license does not require payment of a license fee. All users of any MachStdMill Edition are required to agree to the End User License Agreement (EULA) as a condition of installation and use of the software.

MSM Professional Edition support:
Support for the Professional Edition is provided via the MSM User forum community and all support questions should be directed there. We prefer to handle technical support thru the forums - this allows other users to also benefit from the knowledge shared as issues are found and fixed.
CVI does it's best to give priority to any issues which may arise with the MSM Professional Edition. Since the first production release of MSM, the extensive testing programs used for MSM development have resulted in very few significant MSM bugs and each MSM production release has been bug free when released. CVI hopes to continue this excellent software quality record and will continue to strive to keep MSM bug free. As software errata are reported, fixes are incorporated as soon as available and incorporated into the next MSM release. This may be a beta release or a production release.
Beta releases are utilized when the accumulated changes might be potentially destabilizing to a production environment, or when additional community testing or feedback is desired.
Production releases are software revisions that are to the best of CVI's knowledge fully functional and pass all existing tests. CVI support is offered for the current production release and later (if any) Beta releases. If a problem is reported that is already fixed, users will be directed to the current production release. If a user wishes to run an earlier release, they can consult the release notes to determine when a particular issue was first corrected in a release.
