Current tool Wear DRO

Post by StuartH »

Dave
It's that nosy sod from the uk

Ok I have one of my end mills that is a regind I'd 0.04 under size
So I edited the tool table to reflect this

Did a t10m6 as per usual the next tool DRO wear had the correct info but the current tool wear DRO showed 0000

Is this correct

Hope it's not the motion card this time :D :D
Sorry engineering humour

hi,
nope, not the controller this time -it's mach...

The MSM release notes (mach errata) include this:

4.49 Mill: Mach ignores wear DROs
While the Diameter Wear DRos can be set, it appears that mach is ignoring them. Thus
changing a wear value appears to not have an effort on paths generated with cutter comp.
Verified on Mach 3.43.62

The work around is to edit the diameter entry in the tool table.

Dave

Thanks for the update glad it's not the card this time :D

Ok on the fudge to get it to work , no problem now I know

As a side note to confirm what you know I did a a quick test using the operator tab and the check vars item at the bottom

Reg. 2000 ,2001 and 2002 do not update , but you knew that I put it in as confirmation

I did briefly look into a Ess smooth stepper / breakout board , but as MT is working very well for me it's not a cost effective route , my change if the card goes belly up

Thanks again for putting up with my dumb questions
We have a holiday Monday this weekend ( not that it matters not been to work for 20 years ) so enjoy the weekend

Regards Stuart
