Interfacing probes to breakout boards

Hi All,
Attached to this post is a short paper that describes an issue which can arise when interfacing a probe with an internal LED to a Break out Board that uses Opto isolated inputs.
The Wildhorse Econo-probe and tne Gecko G540 are used in the paper as an example (I wrote this up as a result of helping a MSM user with that combination).
This info will be included in a revision of the MSM user manual. In the mean time, I thought this might be of help to others.

I just installed a PMDX-126 (Rev A3) and have not hooked up the probe yet so that information is very helpfull and timely.

The PMDX126 makes things easy - it can combine two separate physical inputs into the mach probe input line - that takes care of the active hi/active low combination problem that results when you have both a probe and touch plates.

Hi Dave
I have currently this question to interface 2 econo probe on my system. One is used as a touch probe and the other is used as a Tool high setter and it is attached to the machine at tool change position. In the input table (associating parallel port pin to event) I have probe that is associated to my touch probe. How I can generate a probe event with my tool setter (second probe). I have one available pin on my breaker board I can use for that.
