Z-Face not found :-(((

Dear Dave,
I have a problem with probing Z.
(I use Mach3.43.66 with MachStdMill Professional Edition v2.0.12.
My BOB is the C32 CNC4PC).

Probing X work.
Probing Y work.
Probing Z worked...

I used ESS but I had problems with plugin ESS-v10r2d1a (Homing don't work for limit switch triggered).
I removed ESS
Now homing with pport work.

Probing Z sometimes work and sometimes don't work (more no then yes)

When I run probing Z I hear a "noise" and immediately after appears: "Z-Face not found".

Please help me

Best regards
Carlo Masci

With this plugin homing work.
With this plugin probing Z work but Circular Post Probe Operation don't work

With parallel port probing Z don't work

hi,
sorry for my delay in answering - it seems I've been missing some notifications of new posts :(

I'm a bit unsure where to start here. Are you currently using the ESS or the PP?

Dave

Hi,
this combination is a bit puzzling. MSM has no internal knowledge of the motion device being used so it seems odd that the direction of the probe failure is dependent on the motion device (PP or ESS).

Some questions that I hope will help me narrow down what to look into:

1) When using the PP, is the failure consistent? does it happen every time?

2) when using the ESS, is the failure consistent? does it happen every time?

3) what are the ESS plugin and firmware revision levels?

4) have you been through the step in section 8.11 of the MSM manual?

5) do all the steps in 8.11 work ok?

Dave
