MachStdMill Current Releases: Professional Edition: v2.3.9 (Release date: Jan 2, 2016)
Personal Edition: v2.0.10 (Release date: Aug 12, 2013)
To install the MachStdMill software, the first thing to download is the readme file. This document contains step by step installation instructions for MachStdMill. We have found that reviewing this file before running the installer makes for a much smoother installation experience.
Reminder: Minimum Mach3 release requirements.
The addition of turning support in MSM 2.0 changed the minimum and recommended mach versions for use with MSM:
For MSM Mill: To use MSM Mill you must run Mach 3.43.22 or newer.
CVI recommends Mach 3.43.66 for use MSM Mill use. (3.43.66 is the current Mach3 "Lockdown" release). For MSM Turn and MSM Mill-Turn: To use MSM Turn or MSM Mill-Turn you must run Mach 3.43.38 or newer. (This is the first release which included several Lathe specific DROs which MSM uses. Addionally, due to different lathe related bugs within Mach from 3.43.38 through 3.43.58, the first available Mach release without a major lathe mode issue is 3.43.62).
CVI recommends Mach 3.43.66 for use with MSM Turn and Mill-Turn. All CVI recommended Mach releases are available from the CVI web site as a convenience for our customers.
The second item you will need is the MachStdMill installer package. Note: The installation process will require that you agree to the MachStdMill End User License terms which are presented during installation.
MSM 1.x to 2.x Update Caution: Some earlier versions of MSM mistakenly think they installed mach3.exe. Therefore, when that MSM version uninstalls, it removes Mach3.exe... Updating from MSM 1.1.xx to MSM 2.x.x will cause an automatic uninstall of MSM, and Mach3.exe could also get removed. If you find Mach3.exe missing after updating MSM to the 2.x.x release series, just run the Mach installer again to replace the missing mach3.exe file. (See item 3.2.2 in the MSM release notes)
